Today Liceo Linguistico “Ilaria Alpi” hosted the kickoff meeting of “The Culture of Italian American Emigration” project for our year 5 classes. Professor Michela Valmori, University of Bologna, offered an interesting insight into migration waves from Italy to America, focusing on cultural assimilation, stereotypes and the formation of the Italian-American identity. A second meeting will be held during the second week of February, in which Professor Valmori will report and discuss her research results on migrant literature.
